What influences led you to your primary area of practice and what life experience made you to be a better attorney?
I have represented disabled people for the past 14 years. I have presented cases to Administrative Law Judges over 1500 times and represented over 150 people at the Federal Court level. Through this experience, I have learned how to help disabled people get the benefits that they deserve.
When I graduated from Law School, I knew that I had to find a practice of law that would allow me to help people. Disabled people have many struggles in life, and they should not have to struggle to get disability benefits that they deserve. I enjoy helping them fight Social Security for the benefits they need, and deserve.
Describe your law firm.
I am certified as a Social Security disability specialist by the Tennessee Commission on CLE and Specialization. I have limited my practice to Social Security disability for 14 years and attend regular conferences focusing on Social Security disability law. My paralegal, Kristi Clowers, has a B.A. degree in Legal Assistant Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (magna cum laude). She received the Outstanding Senior award from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Legal Assistant Studies program in 2005. She has worked as a paralegal in the Social Security disability field for 10 years and has worked on thousands of Social Security disability cases. Kristi and I have worked together during the majority of those ten years. Together, we make a great team. We understand that the Social Security process can be very intimidating. We take pride in treating our clients with respect and dignity, and most of all giving them the individual attention that they, and their cases, deserve. Helping people through a difficult time, and getting to know them in the process, is the greatest reward for us.
