What experiences (work and/or personal) help you to be a better attorney?

-My experience with my own family in estate and elder law issues.
-My experience working in a hospital billing office to understand the importance of public benefits such as medicaid in assisting the less fortunate.
- My experience as a bank trust officer to understand investment options and how to measure investment performance as well as understanding various estate planning techniques.

What made you choose your primary area of law?

Enjoy planning and implementing plans to achieve results for clients.

Enjoy helping people in need when they have to make difficult life decisions and choices regarding themselves or family members.

What makes your law firm unique?

The quality of life and the business environment of Chattanooga provide an ideal location for "production" of legal services for "export" to other parts of Tennessee and the nation. The expansion of the other firms into other cities in the state and the southeast was a potentially adverse development that the firm had to address.  Rather than investing in establishing offices in other communities, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel has concentrated on investing in technological tools that permit our professionals to serve clients throughout the United States.  Combined with the increased productivity that result from these technological investments, our firm's strategic choice to maintain Chattanooga as a our base has helped us offer legal services at a lower cost than many other firms.  This strategy has proved successful!
